Beyoncé’s new film Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé is now in Online — but when will the anticipated movie be released on streaming services? The film documents the 32-time Grammy winner’s record-breaking Renaissance World Tour. The movie premiered on Dec. 1 in theaters and opened with $27.4 million ($6.4 million from overseas cinemas) in its first weekend, according to Deadline.
The Renaissance Tour wrapped up in October 2023 after 56 stops in 12 countries worldwide. The tour earned $579 million worldwide, becoming one of the highest-grossing tours in history, per Forbes. Beyoncé pocked an estimated $145 million in profits overall.
Like Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert film, Beyoncé also struck a historic movie deal with AMC Entertainment, bypassing studios and going straight to the distributor. Per Swift’s AMC agreement, the singer earns 57% of ticket sales, while theaters keep 43% of revenues. The New York Times reported that Beyoncé’s deal resembles the Midnights singer.
